He has a BS degree from UMASS Amherst for the college of Food Science and Nutrition and a Master of Science from the prestigious Johnson & Wales University, where he had a 10 year career as both and executive and professor. From there he began his career on TV after befriending and training the Guinness book of world records youngest chef, Justin Miller, the two appeared on every major talk show and news station across the country from The Food Network to Good Morning America.
He is a sought after research & development chef writing recipes and developing products for well recognized names like Westinghouse Home Appliance, All-Clad, FlavorStone, FlavorChef & FlavorMaster to name just a few. He has experience in TV commercials campaigns as a celebrity chef for Hood Cottage Cheese and Heluva Good Dip & Cheese. With over 15 years promoting products, you may have seen him on an infomercial selling Kitchen Appliances. His TV selling experience comes from 12 years of appearing on Shopping Networks where he sells kitchen items and food appearing on “HSN” Home Shopping Network in the USA, The Shopping Channel in Canada, TVSN in Australia or QVC in London. Chef Rick’s experience as a Research Chef, includes new product development, commercial recipe production and amazing food styling photos for national brands that include such names as Rastelli Foods, Dietz & Watson, Crockpot, HP Hood, Daisy Cakes, FlavorSeal, Thin n Trim meats, Baileys Coffee Creamers, All Clad kitchen products, Bialetti Italian Cookware and FlavorStone Cookware. Keeping pace with today’s fast paced technology he has worked with Publication International, LTD a leading cookbook publisher on its launch of the icookbook application and is one of the chefs on e-how.com showing people how-to cook different foods. Giving back is a belief he engages often, As a founding member of the Food Service Industry Service Hero’s non-profit organization , Chef Rick prepared dinners for the United States Military Forces , honoring the Hero’s that serve us every day. He is immensely proud of his work with the US Marine Corps and Commanding Generals and is honored to have the opportunity to prepare dinners on bases around the world.
